Activity: Creating a Kahoot  game

Date: April 2016

The Greek team created a quiz (Kahoot game) using the online platform “Kahoot” in order to to summarize the 2nd meeting discussions in just a few lines .

The quiz includes various questions which were mostly about the topic of water,  a topic that was covered by a variety of activities during the meeting, the answers of which should be familiar to the participating students. The Kahoot game was played by the students participating in the visit including the Greek hosts, in the computer lab, on Friday 15 April, the last day of the meeting.

What is a Kahoot game?

kahootKahoot is a free game-based learning platform that makes it fun to learn – any subject, in any language, on any device, for all ages! A Kahoot is a collection of questions on specific topics. Created by teachers, students, business-people and social users, they are asked in real-time, to an unlimited number of “players”, creating a social, fun and game-like learning environment. Create a fun learning game in minutes (they call these ‘kahoots’), made from a series of multiple choice questions. It is easy to add videos, images and diagrams to the questions to amplify engagement! Kahoots are best played in a group setting, like a classroom. Players answer on their own devices, while games are displayed on a shared screen to unite the lesson – creating a ‘campfire moment’ – encouraging players to look up. Social learning promotes discussion and pedagogical impact… whether players are in the same room or on the other side of the globe! For more details visit the official site of Kahoot.
